Key features of aluminium doors

Although a step up in price from uPVC, aluminium doors are a popular choice for very good reasons:

  • With great versatility, aluminium can be shaped and adapted to any size and style of door, including entrance and exit doors, bi-fold doors, french doors, and sliding patio doors.
  • Using a thinner section (frame) than uPVC doors, aluminium doors create more of a contemporary look and gain more light through a smaller aperture.
  • Aluminium is very durable and hard-wearing, offering complete protection from the elements and good standards of insulation. All aluminium frames are thermally broken so condensation cannot travel through the metal.
  • Because of its durability, aluminium looks better for longer. Resistant to corrosion, it’s easy to clean and the powder-coated spray finish keeps its colour and doesn’t need repainting every few years, as with timber.
  • Much like uPVC, aluminium is light and easy to install, so it’s a cheaper alternative to timber.
